09 July 8.30am Charteris Bay – Purau – Diamond Harbour
2nd P/U: Halswell Library
Inland rural and urban roads out bound to Purau. Some short, steepish climbing and descending grades on the roads. Return to diamond Harbour Domain along undulating coastal margin walking track.
Standard Route: Walk around road and track to Purau for lunch, follow the coast track to Diamond Harbour and follow track to Charteris Bay.
Alternative Route: Walk around road and track to Purau for lunch, follow the coast track to Diamond Harbour.

16 July 8.30am Bowenvale – Victoria Park – Bowenvale
2nd P/U: End of Bowenvale Ave.
A steady climb to the Summit Road, then siding tracks to Victoria Park and to descent to Bowenvale.

23 July 8:00am Bealey Spur NOTE EARLY START.
2nd P/U Yaldhurst Hotel
This track climbs gently up to the Spur, through mountain-beech forest. In Summer look -out for red-flowering mistletoe / pirirangi near the start of the track. At one point the track comes close to a cliff with a dramatic view down to Bruce Stream. Higher up, the track passes through tussock grasslands and subalpine scrub and passes near several tarns. There are expansive views of the Waimakariri River Valley and surrounding mountains.
Standard Route: The track starts from the car park off SH73, walk up Cloudesley Road to the track start at the top. Continue from the Bealey Spur Hut to the top of the Spur and return.

30 July 8.30 am Bridle Path – Lyttelton – Pony Point
2nd P/U: Bridle Path track, Heathcote
Steady climb over Bridle Path then undulating to Pony Point and return via Stan Helms Track.
Standard Route: Bridle Path turn right onto Harmans Rd to Voelas Rd to Brittan Tce then follow tracks to Cass Bay and on to Pony Point. Walk through park then follow track to Cass Bay and back to Brittan Tce, Voelas Rd, Harmons Rd and left onto Stan Helms Track to Summit Rd and down Bridle Path to Heathcote.
Alternative Route: As above but on return take low track at Corsair Bay and bus pickup at Lyttelton.

6 August 8.30am McLeans Island – Waimakariri River Regional Park

An easy walk for any Associate members who may wish to join us for a catch up.
Easy mostly flat walking on the top of stop banks, gravel forestry roads and on a formed walking track through scrappy radiata pine forest.
Standard Route: Start at the locked stop bank gate on the north side of Weedons Ross Road near the Canterbury Offroad Club grounds. Continue east along the major stop bank until a morning tea stop – opposite a “works yard” in the forest. After M.T. go left off the stop bank on to a forestry road going back hard NW towards the Waimak River. At the road/stop bank intersection continue NE on a minor stop bank and then the road left 150 m to the riverbank. Turn right on to a river road to a locked gate which is at the NW corner of the Waimakariri River Regional Park: climb over the gate, turn right on to Miners Road. Turn left on to Norton Avenue (locked gate), turn right for 50 m, over a fence and join the walking track which parallels Farm Road. Turn right on to Ashfield Road, right again on to the top bank past the back boundary of the McLeans Is-land Golf Club and return via the walking track to the Regional Park car park

13 August 8.30am Sumner – Godley Head – Evans Pass
2nd P/U: Meet at Clocktower south end of Sumner Esplanade
Easy to moderate walk from Sumner around the north side of the harbour.
Standard Route: From Scarborough clock tower follow the road to Flowers Track. Up Flowers Track to Nicholson Park. Continue on the road to the coastal track access way, next to 127 Taylors Mistake Road, and onto Taylors Mistake and Godley Head car park for lunch. After lunch, over stile, onto Breeze Bay walking track, past World War 11 buildings, to bus pickup at Evans Pass.
Alternative Route: Start second at Evans Pass and do in reverse to the Standards. Can take a shortcut down the Anaconda Track from Breeze Col or go the whole way to Godly Head and around.

20 August 8.30am Little River – Birdlings Flat
2nd P/U: Halswell Library
The Alternates route is mostly downhill and would be suitable for Associate members who wish to join us.
Road walk. Steady climb to the intersection of Kinloch Road and Bossu Road, turn right on to Bossu Road and follow to Birdlings Flat.

27 August 8.30am Kate Valley – Tiromoana Bush Walkway
2nd P/U: Woodend
Rolling open reverted farming country, some steep climbs, some gravel road walking.
Standard Route: Car park to Ella Ponds (am tea), Coastal Viewpoint, Ella Bush, a ridge climb to Ella’sPeak, a grass track descent to a stream gully and lunch on the Pegasus Bay beach. Returning to the carpark via the western Wetlands track. A short steep road climb(toilet) to grass track through a pine plantation; an undulating road walk to the D/O.
Alternative Route: Car park to Ella Ponds (am tea), Coastal Viewpoint, Ella Bush, a grass track descent to a stream gully and lunch on the Pegasus Bay beach. Returning to the carpark via the western Wetlands track. A short steep road climb(toilet) to grass track through a pine plantation; an undulating road walk to the D/O.

3 September 8.30am Princess Margaret Hospital to Governors Bay
2nd P/U: Princess Margaret Hospital
Moderate climb up the Christchurch Adventure Park (CAP) hiking trail to the Summit Rd. Then down to the Otoromiro Hotel via Governors Bay Downhill and lower Faulkners tracks.
Standard Route: Start PMH make your way past the Old Stone House and on to the CAP Hiking Trail. Up to the Summit Rd. Follow the Crater Rim Walkway down to the Sign of the Kiwi, around Coronation Hill to the Layby on the Summit Rd approx 300m above the Kiwi where the Governors Bay Downhill track drops down towards Governors Bay. Follow this down and around to Faulkners Track. Walk down this to the Otoromiro Hotel.
Alternative Route: As above but starting at the Old Stone House or CAP entrance. No Need to walk down to Kiwi or around Coronation Hill. Drop down Governors Bay Downhill track from the Layby.

10 September 8.30am McCormacks Bay – Evans Pass – Mulgans Track – Moncks Bay
2nd P/U McCormacks Bay Reserve, McCormacks Bay Road
Steady climb to top and gentle descent
Standard Route: Start at McCormacks Bay Reserve (Glenstrae Rd right at first hairpin or round to Basil Plc and straight off the end up through Drayton Reserve), steady climb to top through John Brittan Reserve. Continue up reserve, follow cycle trail to right to the saddle below the Gondola. Turn left and follow Crater rim walk to top of Mt Pleasant aerials. Track down to gun emplacement, then follow track to Evans Pass. At Evans Pass follow cycle trail to four-wheel drive track. At Summit Road turn right to lead onto top of Eastenders Track turn immediately right and follow the grassy track down to Clifton Tce. Down Clifton Terrace and go through Brownlee Reserve, cross Panorama Rd and down No 32 drive, continue down to next road, turn right then left at No34 and follow track to Kinsey Tce. At Kinsey Tce turn left and walk to Mulgans Track at the end of the road. Down Mulgans Track to bus pickup at Moncks Bay
Alternative Route: Start at John Brittan Reserve, climb to gun emplacement through Greenwood Reserve, descend to Evans Pass, walk up road to top Eastenders track for lunch. Turn immediately right and follow the grassy track down to Clifton Terrace, climb stile into Panorama Road, turn left at 32 Panorama Road and follow steps down to road, turn right then left at no 34 Tuawera St and follow track to Kinseys Tce, turn left at end of Kinsey Tce to Mulgans track down to bus pickup at Moncks Bay.

17 September 8.30am Craigieburn Forest Park Ski Lodge
2nd P/U: Yaldhurst Hotel
A short section of gravel road followed by a climb through beech forest to the ski field base, and a return down the access road to SH 73.
Standard Route: A short section of gravel road to the Luge Track then up to Lyndon Saddle to join the gently climbing Craigieburn Valley Track to the skifield base and back down the access road to the junction with Hwy 73.
Alternative Route: Lead off on the Craigieburn Skifield Road, go right on to the Craigieburn Valley Track, round the head of the valley, through the ski field Base HQ area and back down the Craigieburn Ski field Road to the Hwy 73 junction
Statistics: distance 15.6/14km, elevation gain 755/612m VA, time 4.15/4hrs.
24 September 8.00am Mt Barrosa, Lake Clearwater
2nd P/U: Yaldhurst Hotel
The Alternates route is flat and suitable for Associate members who wish to join us.
Standards: Difficult, steady climb to the top of the mountain, then return via same route.
Alternates .Easy, flat 10km loop track around Lake Clearwater.
Option: Alts, Stour river walk.
Standard Route: Mt Barossa track from DOC carpark. Progressively steeper walk until ¾ mark where the going gets marginally easier. Great views from rocky top. Marked track.
Alternative Route: Lake Clearwater Loop Track starts at the DOC carpark down by the lake, to the right, at the lower end of Mt Possession St. Anticlockwise around lake returning to carpark. Approx 10km, flat walking.
Option: Stour River track from DOC carpark where there is a toilet. 6.7km to Stour river crossing turnaround point. Return via same track. 13.4km total distance. Relatively flat, some stream crossings, marked track.
